My path
I don't know the way back from books, but from my own life.
Running companies, carrying responsibility, having a lot under control at once. Athletic, reliable, the best via ferratas. From the outside, everything ran.
On the inside only my head was running. I could no longer switch off, not even in the middle of the night. My breathing grew tight, and at the doctor's one sentence said it all: I can't breathe.
And the thing people don't talk about so easily: I lost my desire. I have always been a sensual person, and suddenly that was gone.
I stood next to myself. I watched myself and was no longer in myself. Maybe you know this. When everyone relies on you, at work and at home, then you know what I'm talking about.
